This challenging 2-day expedition to Mt. Kenya's Point Lenana (4,985m ASL) via the Naromoru Route is designed for super-fit hikers. The goal is to summit in under 16 hours, covering 28 km with an elevation gain of over 1,900m. Starting at Met Station (3,048m), the trek ascends through diverse terrain to Mackinders Camp (4,300m) before the final push to the peak. This strenuous adventure demands significant physical endurance and mental toughness, suitable only for experienced hikers with prior high-altitude exposure. After conquering the summit, participants descend back to Met Station and return to Nairobi.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Meet at Nairobi CBD, opposite International House, at 10:00 hrs. Depart for Mt. Kenya National Park via Naro Moru Gate at 10:30 hrs. Arrive at Naro Moru Gate for registration, briefing, and park check-in at 14:30 hrs. Transfer to Met Station (3,048m ASL) at 15:00 hrs for evening relaxation. Early dinner served at 18:00 hrs in preparation for the summit push.

Hot beverage and snacks served at 02:00 hrs. Begin ascent to Point Lenana at 02:30 hrs. Expected arrival at Mackinder’s Camp (4,300m ASL) at 06:30 hrs. Reach Point Lenana (4,985m ASL) at 10:30 hrs, which is the mandatory turnaround time for all participants to ensure a safe descent. Depart Mt. Kenya for Nairobi at 16:00 hrs.
